Are these bed bugs? I found several of these casings while cleaning my car. I’m super paranoid about bed bugs and can’t relax now that I’ve found them. What do you think?
Are these Bed Bugs
Not bed bugs. The first image is a beetle in the family Dermestidae (carpet/hide/skin/larder beetles and allies); the other images are of the shed 'skins' (exuviae) of dermestid larvae. These feed on organic materials primarily of animal origin, including other dead insects. They can get by on very little food and can withstand extended periods of starvation. We sometimes find them in our house in situations where I find it difficult to believe that they could find any food there!
Thank you! My car was a mess...I guess I will keep it clean from now on!
