I live in MN, zone 4 (5a). My plant grew very well inside in a south window over the winter. I put it outside in the spring. We had some hot weather and leaves were scorched. How do I handle this? It makes me feel just sick.

You can't fix burned leaves but new leaves should be okay. In the future, acclimate a plant growing in shade/house environment to sunnier locations over a period of two weeks or so. Think of getting a tan versus sunburn - you do it over a couple of weeks, not in one day.
