Hi, I’ve got these pests all over my garden, they’re about 1/4 inch in size and jump when touched.
Can anyone identify this bug?
These are nymphs of a planthopper (superfamily Fulgoroidea). The nymphs of many species in this group secrete waxy filaments whose function is not fully understood. These all are sap feeders, but only a few species ever get numerous enough to become serious pests.
