I live in South Texas down near Houston... These guys have been all over everything here lately I really don't look like an ass but they don't look friendly either! Anyone know the species and whether or not they are poisonous?
CLOSED: poisonous asp or caterpillar?
This looks like a banded tussock moth caterpillar, Halysidota tessellaris - http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=8203
This species is not known to possess venomous/urticating hairs or spines.
Thanks flapdoodle, yes that's him; I will just leave them alone!
