Most beautiful furry spider

No photo, I will be watching for a chance. Apparently not a web builder. Saw spider, about 1/2 inch long, black and white stipples so it looked gray from a distance, or striped up close. Quite furry. Had beautiful metallic gold/copper spots on what I took to be its head, and a beautiful blue/green spot on the other end. It was holding very still when I saw it, with most of its legs pulled together in front (or back, I guess), so at first I thought I saw a little frog. Finally, it moved very cautiously down to hide between 2 planters. I am sure it did not like me looking at it. I don't know if I will ever catch sight of it again. It was outdoors, Massachusetts. May have been disturbed in hiding on a plant I just moved from one spot in the yard to another.
