Hi, I just moved to a new place in South Florida and found this spider in my room. Can anyone help me identify if it's dangerous to humans?
Thanks!
What Spider Is This?
It's a wolf spider (family Lycosidae); these are active hunters that do not spin a capture web. The are not dangerous to humans; the only way you'd get bitten by one would be to pick one up and handle it roughly.
Thank you! I was worried it was a brown recluse. That makes sense though, I found him right in middle of my room and it looked like he was hunting for something. Glad it wasn't me...
