Hello,
I have lots of the same kind of spider in my garden in London (UK) and I'd love to know what they are - or even just if I'm right that they're all pregnant! They spend most of their time on some steps between the patio and the lawn and don't seem to spin webs.
Any suggestions much appreciated! Thanks.

These are wolf spiders (family Lycosidae). The females carry their egg sac about with them (attached to their spinnerets) until the eggs hatch, they then allow the baby spiders to 'hitchhike' on their back for a few days. These spiders are active hunters that (with the exception of one genus) that do not spin capture webs - https://www.naturespot.org.uk/taxonomy/term/19524
Thanks so much! I've been watching them all morning - super interesting : )
