Self-seeding Annuals vs Groundcover

Portland, OR(Zone 8a)

I have a lot of self-seeding annuals in my back flower bed and the weeds really like the bed too. So I want to plant a evergreen perannual ground cover to suppress the weeds but I'm wondering if doing that will keep my self-seeders from reseeding?

Shade to part sun you could try Coptis lacinata pnw native Evergreen groundcover

For a taller ground cover again shade to part sun( I seen it in full sun but it will need ample water)
Sarcococca hookeriana humilis fragrant Evergreen generally 12”-16”
Full sun Acaena blue haze 1/2-1” t
Full sun arctostaphylos uva ursi Vancouver jade a selection of the Pnw native bear berry 4-6”
Full sun Edibles ever bearing strawberries have been doing a good job of keeping weeds out in my gardens and they will fruit all the way to October

While any number of these will suppress the weeds you will have to pull some from time to time

Handroanthus That didn't answer my question, but thanks for the suggestions on plants. My Question is will a ground cover keep my annual self-seeders from reseeding?

No problem as I said at the bottom of my post, you will have luck helping to suppress the annuals but I believe you will have to pull weeds from time to time. The only plant, of those that i suggested, that I have seen that does not allow weeds to grow is a well established bed of sarcococca hookeriana humilis. I saw 2 plantings yesterday that never have weeds but then again they may not have the self seeders that you have in your garden
