CHRISTMAS ROUND ROBIN

dobie, ON(Zone 3a)

Thanks violet, but I wonder how it could have been short already, was the envelope ripped, maybe the postman wanted to grow flowers?

Springfield, MO(Zone 6a)

Nope, wasn't short. Counted the packets 4 times to make sure.

When I hosted my last one I just had everyone write down the total # of packets they mailed out with so the next person would expect that same amount. Asked that it stay the same or increase but should never decrease....

Milo, IA(Zone 5a)

Received package # 1 today. Will mail out tomorrow.
I took out:
pink poppies
larkspur mix
cimicifuga ramosa
viola
coreopsis tinctoria-dwarf red
pardacanda norissii-candylily
anemones

Put in:
aureum feverfew
heliopsis summer sun
dames rocket
blue fortune agastache
malva zebrina
ravenna grass

and a few surprises.

Longview, TX

Got the seeds this afternoon! Will pass on to Pam this weekend more than likely.

dobie, ON(Zone 3a)

Hi Kelly,
With violet getting the envelope just before you and having to add packages of seeds to bring it up to the number that it started with I guess there are not any extra seeds in it for you to take out for the youth project. When the envelope gets back to me instead of offering all the extras to newbies will send you some of them.
Does anyone in the round robin have a problem with this, as it is extra seeds that you have put in.

Kitchener, ON(Zone 5A)

not at all. I can send some to Kelly. email me

Longview, TX

I am so overwhelmed by your generosity ladies, thank you!!

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Howdy, Kelly. How about some Coral Nymph Salvia for your youth project? They are native to Texas.

trailingon, I see you're in zone 3. do you have a greenhouse? worried I won't find stuff you can grow, but I will try my hardest.

dobie, ON(Zone 3a)

Hi tig,

no i don't have a greenhouse, thats on my wish list. I have no children left at home so I turned a bedroom into a growing room. I made a 4 shelf stand with gro lights for starting plants. I have about 200 plants in 4" pots now and will soon be gearing up for spring. With all the volunteer planting I do for our community I need quite a few plants every spring. If they won't overwinter here, I try and start them early enough so that they bloom the first year and then treat them as an annual. I started a few brug seeds and can't believe how fast they are growing. Hope they bloom this summer for me. I love different plants that the people of this area don't have. That way when they drive by it is a treat for them. Don't worry about what you trade for, I did this to share, It's good to know that some of the participants are getting seeds for plants that they wanted. To me that is what Dave's is about, helping and sharing with fellow gardeners. Sorry for rambling, take care.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)
