Hello! Any assistance will be greatly appreciated! I have identified the following:
1. Violet 4. Bitter Dock 5. Purple Dead Nettle 6. Mouse-eared Chickweed
8 . Dandelion 10 and 11 - Ranunculus abortivus L. also known as smallflower buttercup or littleleaf buttercup!
I need help with: 2. ? 3. ? 7. ? 9. ?
Thanks!
Trying to identify plants from my yard
9 might be Nutsedge, which is a particular enemy of mine. It's a bear to get rid of; it grows from, surprise, nut-like rhizomes/corms and you have to DIG THEM OUT. When they start to come up they look a lot like a slender crocus leaf, then nothing but invasion, water and nutrient stealing and general yuckiness. I'm 100 miles south of Chi. Good luck with the ID's!
SSK
At first glance, 7 appears to be a sort of honeysuckle to me.
2 looks a lot like Hairy Bittercress without flowers. It shoots out its seeds when dry.
It's one of those plants that spreads seeds so efficiently that it seems hopeless to fully eradicate. But I have had some limited success with lots of time and pulling every tiny seedling out. The key is recognizing its whorl of circular basal leaves when its very young.
