Weird growths on Holly Bush

I've got these spiny growths all over my holly bush and my wax leaf bush. Where ever these grow, it kills the limb. Thanks.

Looks like a phytoplasma infection. There is no cure and it will eventually kill the plant. Best to get rid of it so the infection does not spread to other plants. Be sure to thoroughly clean any tools used to remove the bush.
