Hello. This picture is not mine but other woman's photo and she's curious what kind of thing is this. We all discussed saying this is a spider but what kind of spider could this be. I have never seen one in my country.
What kind of spider is this?
Oh and by the way, it's not that big as it looks like. This was zoomed in to take a picture. The spider is about a size of a thumb.
It's an orb weaver in the family Araneidae, but the image is not clear enough for me to be confident of a more specific identification. All orb weavers are harmless to humans.
