Petunias Overwintering

I planted petunias in my front yard last summer from 6 packs I got at Home Depot.
To my surprise they are surviving the winter and they are actually currently in bloom. The weather here is getting warmer week by week. Is it possible they'll survive another season or will some internal clock go off and they'll die off before then?

I sometimes get mine to survive over winter if no frosts. They do great! I have a huge pot of Supertunia Vista Bubblegum that is going on its 3rd or 4th year. It is the most amazing petunia. It can look dead then I water it and the next week it is pushing out new growth with flowers no less!
