What are these in my gardenias?
These are planthoppers in the family Ricaniidae; they look like Scolypopa australis, known as the passion vine planthopper. See http://nzacfactsheets.landcareresearch.co.nz/factsheet/InterestingInsects/Passion-vine-hopper---Scolypopa-australis.html
