I’ve found two beetles in some wheat in western Victoria, Aus. Everyone I ask hasn’t seen one before, so I’m turning to the interwebs for help :)
They are approximately one cm in length, one is light brown and green-ish in colour, and the other has a bit of reddish brown on its head. They have a similar shape to a ladybug, but bigger. I’ve uploaded a picture of each bug as well.
Hope someone can tell me what it is, I’m super curious! Thanks in advance
CLOSED: Australian Beetle, No One Can Tell Me What It Is
This is a tortoise leaf beetle (family Chrysomelidae). There are several species in the genus Paropsisterna that can have an appearance similar to yours. See https://farm6.static.flickr.com/5734/30553098510_7cfd941fd4_b.jpg for an example.
Awesome! Thank you so much, not knowing what it was was driving me crazy :)
