Mc Kinney, TX

What are these bugs and is there a particular reason I have hundreds maybe thousands on this one tree?

These are nymphs of boxelder bugs (Boisea sp.; family Rhopalidae). They basically are harmless nuisances; aggregations like this are commonly seen in late autumn.
