Does anyone know what these creepy little worms are? I found them in my ornamental flower bed when I dug a hole to plant a rose bush. They were in the removed soil, and also imbedded around the edges of the hole. Are they harmful, and what would I use to get rid of them. If the pictures are hard to see, the body is fat and almost clear/white, and they have multiple legs. Thanks!!
Worms in flower bed
They are grubs that will turn into June bugs or Japanese beetles.
Thank you CountryGardens.
Are they harmful to my flowers, should I try to get rid of them?

We get them in lawns here. Only damage I know of is when Skunks dig for them. Whole area gets plowed up.
I'd get rid of them. They turn into Japanese Beetles!
Nematodes will kill them. Spray in the spring to kill. Available at Canadian Tire and most Garden Nurseries.
They make good fish bait, grubs do bite ( --learned the hard way).
Chuckl, they are grubs, they do cause harm to roots, directly( as they like St Augustine grasses and can kill that grass) and indirectly( as food for ground animals.) The ones that turn into June bugs are larger than some of those smaller grubs. Normally you would treat your areas once in the Fall, and again in the Spring before they can get ahead of you. Cali has different seasons than most of us, lower Cali goes from over hot to hot. I've been turning soil and notice I will need to treat my soil before I plant...
