Hi! Any help identifying the following would be greatly appreciated: the caterpillar is about 6 cm long, has a black tail (single prong, about 0.5 cm), is light grey-ish with black bands, and has an orange head. It was found in an area with pines and brush, but was not found on a plant (it was rescued from an outdoor cattery). The geographical location is the northern Mediterranean coast of Spain.

It's a caterpillar of a sphinx moth; possibly Sphinx pinastri - https://www.flickr.com/photos/charaxes14/galleries/72157626208852304
Awesome! Thank you so much!
