I cannot find these ants on the Internet. They appeared this morning on a late summer tomato. Are they dangerous? Red ants with black extremities and black hairs coming out of the top rear area. (I can't be sure they're hairs but it looks like it).

These are nymphs of a leaf-footed bug (family Coreidae) in the genus Leptoglossus. These can be damaging to tomatoes...
