There were a couple of dozen of these things climbing up my door jamb.

Not sure if you can enlarge the photo...there are black dots all over its body. I just don't want these things to be ticks. I live in NJ and really don't want them around me.

Looks like a large aphid, such as a willow aphid - no worries...
