It's an orb weaver (family Araneidae); likely in the genus Neoscona - see https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c6/BarnSpider.jpg/220px-BarnSpider.jpg for an example. All orb weavers are harmless to humans.
