Hey all, found this little guy on a walk yesterday. My wife assumed it was poisonous, and to "stay away".
What is it, and is it poisonous?
Thanks so much!
What spider is this?
This is Argiope aurantia, a harmless orb weaver that somehow got off its web. Like the vast majority of spiders, it has venom glands and thus technically considered venomous. However, its bite is of no significance to humans. See http://www.spiders.us/species/argiope-aurantia/ for additional information.
