Hello, I'm in USDA zone four and looking for something I could plant and in a year or two have somewhat straight and sturdy sticks for crafting woven raised beds and bins, trelis, lattice, bird net frame, light fence posts etc
Sticks, staves
Trying to visualize Sheriden- you over by the Bighorns? I have seen willows in lower riverbeds, and I suspect a few other types of quick growing trees along that same river. Wish I had my Atlas out, chuckl. Ran i90 many years on my way to Wash state. I believe aspen might work tho you may have to soak in lime water to get desired shapes. If you were here in Houston, I could load you up on fast growing twigs...have been out battling yaupon and smilax today, and counting myself lucky they aren't mesquite.
