Found this on the mattress, it moves like a caterpillar, and the size of a grain of rice. Doesn't have visible legs, but do have hairy tail on the smaller end.

What is this insect please
This is a larva of a beetle in the family Dermestidae (carpet/hide/skin/larder beetles, etc.); likely in the genus Attagenus (black carpet beetle and allies). See http://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7436.html for detailed information on these.
