We potted a large schefflera plant but were very disappointed when it shed its entire leaves over the course of an year. Though we had a few new shoots, its clear that the plant as such has died. The pot is near a window with both blinds and curtains, so the amount of light that gets through is low. We tend to open the blinds in the winter during the day but at no point do we get direct sun from that side.
Need experts advise on the names of indoor plants that can survive low light but which have a tropical look and spread.
Thank you for looking.
Suggestions needed on indoor plants
Philodendron, Maidenhair Fern, Mother In-Law's Tongue, Dragon Tree all do well in low light (not dark) conditions. They, in my opinion, have the tropical feel you are looking for.
Maybe a "peace lily" (Spathiphyllum spp/cv). Available in a variety of sizes and generally tolerant of "house plant" conditions.
