Almost 3mm long and black.

What kind of bug/beetle is this?
This is a weevil; specifically, a broad-nosed/short-snouted weevil in the subfamily Entiminae. These weevils often enter buildings in search of shelter, but do no harm there. The larvae of some species can be serious pests, feeding on plant roots.
