2 of these just molted and their molts were on the leaves with them. I have included a picture of that. We found them on my dwarf cherry tree which I would prefer they didnt eat. What else is safe for this species? I couldnt find a picture with an ID online, just a picture of one wanting to know what it is. I am sure this is the same type of cat I made a post about before but it was too low an instar for a good ID.
CLOSED: Moth ID from maybe 4th instar cat
I hesitate to be certain from these images, but a yellow bear caterpillar is a possibility - see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ-rkV--whs
These caterpillars will feed on a very wide variety of vegetation.

I think this is probably it and being yellower in early instars would explain my first post about them a while ago. Well I think ill try and rais them, I gave them beauty bush leaves with decent stems to form their cocoons and I went and trimmed up the other cherry tree where I found a 4th so they should be able to eat well and on my terms =D. I raised 4 black swallowtail cats in that bucket.. guess its time for moths. Now where to put my 2 Monarch cats?!
oh any idea what instar they might be? I was thinking 4th if im going by monarch sizes.
I just read up... wow! they stay in the cocoons so long! Do you happen to know or know someplace I can look up whether keeping them warm all winter will mess them up or if they need to be in the cold for a period of time.
I would think that they would need to be kept cool over winter, but you might try inquiring on this FaceBook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/137219092972521/ (Mothing and Moth-watching)...
thanks again sir!
