Black Spider in Texas

Houston, TX

Can you please ID this fella?

Found it in the bathroom. Fast mover/jumper. I think it got brought in on luggage from airplane. Can be from anywhere but likely from the Illinois/Michigan area.

Really need to see the eye pattern of this specimen; it appears to have been sprayed with something that has obscured any markings it may have had. The leg posture appears consistent with that of a huntsman spider, but I doubt that it actually is one...

Hi Flapdoodle, thanks.

It was spotted high up at the corner of a wall and the ceiling and I couldn't reach it otherwise so it was sprayed with a stream of Raid from a few feet away, which did make it appear a bit more 'glossy'. Here's a couple more pics. I tried to get it as focused as possible.

From what I can see of the eye pattern, I believe that a huntsman spider is a definite possibility. These spiders are native to Texas, and are not dangerous to humans.

Cool. Thank you sir!
