I've been shooting these in my garden all summer. I first thought they were Assassin bug nymphs but as they got bigger they started to look like a cricket. I cannot find anything on the web that identifies them. They sit solo on flower buds and pedals.
CLOSED: A cricket or Assassin bug?
It's a nymph of a bush katydid; likely in the genus Scudderia - http://www.backyardnature.net/n/a/unicorn.htm
Thank you sir! Not a beneficial critter at all.
