Help! My tomato plants are wilting. One in particular (the biggest one) - I think they are all different varieties as well. One I literally grew from the sprout that started inside a store bought vine tomato, then two others were from two different seed packs. It should also be noted that the pots are pretty small (4-5 gallons, maybe). The biggest one has small fruit growing but I'm worried they won't make it!!
It's been pretty hot here (NYC) and the only space I have is the roof - could they be wilting because they are too warm (the temp has been about 85 lately). I try to keep them in the shade for the hottest parts of the day and keep moving them inside when it hits above 88 degrees out, but then I worry that they aren't getting enough sun. I have stakes in the pots but not cages and the main stem seems strong but all the outliers are drooping and the leaves are very wilty. What should I do??
I also have a separate question about broccoli (I have two plants in probably a 4 gallon pot and they've grown (both about a foot and a half tall) but aren't making any broccoli heads. Could it be too hot for them or is the pot too small (and is it wise to try and transplant them now that they are so big and probably root locked?)?
