Can these be separated and saved?

Yankton, SD

I recently found out I had what I thought was a few purple leafed plums(tentative ID) growing in a bad spot. I wants to dig them up and rehome them but we discovered it seems to be one plant that was probably cut down by us or the old owners as its very close to the house. Can these be separated? If so what is the best approach?

So I finally got around to separating these guys. I am so hoping they live!! Does anyone think the two not potted are worth it?

Given that this plant shows a propensity for suckering/colonizing, you can expect that the plants you have divided and potted up will continue to behave this way in the future.

Seems like you'll be able to reproduce this by division for as long as you wish.

Only value I see in potting up any more divisions is if you plan to give them away, sell them, or keep digging holes to plant more.
