I'm killing half of nine rhododendrons I've planted--rhododendron maximum, 'Independence Day'. The ones dying seem to be dying of some sort of mildew. Thing is, the ones right next to them are fine. I am literally losing every other one. It has been a cool, wet spring in the northeast but it seems to be warming up and drying out. Organic gardener....any ideas? I tried Neem, knowing it was a desperation measure, and a hose-off. Don't want to lose half of what I planted; I can take plant death in stride but....half of them??
