I purchased my house about a year ago and last year this magnolia tree was full of leaves and blooms. This year the front of the tree is blooming and has leaves(although it is sparse) and the back has nothing. Not sure if it is dying or what to do. I am in Kansas, zone six.
Help with my magnolia tree
Looks like Magnolia grandiflora 'Little Gem'. Not reliably winter-hardy north of z7 so it's likely have suffered freeze damage last winter. Probably best to replace it with a tree more suited to your local climate.
