I have a problem with aphids on my wave petunias. I have tried several bought sprays for them. That only discolor the blooms and make the flowers look horrible. And the bugs just come back. Is there a home remedy I can make that won't harm my flowers and get rid of the aphids.
Aphids on wave petunias
This won't keep the flowers from perhaps getting bruised etc., but this should get aphids under control.
I simply use a hard spray of water with the garden hose and a spray nozzel. You need to get down and spray the water really well over and UNDER the leaves. Perhaps pick off all of the blooms that have aphids on them and trash them.
You can also use an insecticidal soap or make your own with a couple of drops of Dawn dish washing soap in a bottle of water. If there's lots of aphids on some of the leaves, pick them off and destroy them as well.
Do this EVERY day for awhile and that should get them under control.
You have to be consistent with the spray.
Good luck.
