Found the spider in the closet picture in my bag when I came back from Zambia and Zanzibar. It was about 13cm in length.
What kind of spider is it?
A week later, I found the spider in the other picture at home. Could it be a child of the first one? How fast do these spiders grow?
Tropical spider?
What is your geographical location, please? The two spiders appear to be unrelated...
Netherlands. I have never seen the 'small' spider before here, so I thought it might come from the larger one?
Your second spider appears to be a native species in the family Agelenidae (funnel weavers) - see http://www.welokee.nl/spiders/en/showpic.php?pic=tatri1&find=2010-09-04-a for an example. These are quite common indoors and not at all dangerous to humans. Unfortunately, I cannot see enough detain in the first spider to hazard an identification.
