Strange Fast Growing Stalk in My Courtyard

Can anyone identify this stalk? It is fast growing, sleeps during the day (droops in sunlight), and seems to wake up at night. It sprouted out of the cobblestone in my courtyard. Much taller, approaching the top of the fence. Afraid to touch it, dont know if it is poisonous. Thanks
