I live in downtown Chicago one block from the lake.We have a outdoor pool at our building that was in need a "plant lift". I decided to tackle the project and I have been designing, ordering custom planters on casters, and a careful selection of tropical as residents stated..NO BEES. On Thursday I planted 7 huge planters full of tropicals ..it was a balmy 80 degrees Friday it dropped to 40 and high winds and heavy rain. What to do.....Please help!
Did my tropical plants die?
I think your plants are fine, maybe a bit of transplant shock. I would be a bit more concerned about sunburn than anything. Let them settle in and don't over-fuss. It looks great!
Thank you Growin! Did I mention this is 5 minutes after planting? I don't have an after the storm photo yet. What do you mean sunburn? Too much light at the pool?
When a plant is grown in a greenhouse (under glass) and then put in direct sunlight, plants can get sunburn if they are not slowly introduced to it. I think your plants will all be fine. Just don't overwater.
Thank you so much...I would hate to disappoint my whole building!
