I had this spider in my room the other night, Checked some 10 spiders in Scotland and one on the list was a False Widow Spider, It looks eerily similar so i thought some expert look would be good to confirm my suspicions
Ps. I did catch the spider in a pringles container and released it outside away from my house.
This looks more like a hacklemesh/lace weaver in the family Amaurobiidae - http://www.naturespot.org.uk/species/lace-weaver-spider
