Does the US have a funnel web spider that resembles the Sidney funnel web spider? I have googled myself silly and can''t find out. Thank you for any info.

The closest we have are the purseweb spiders (family Atypidae) in the genera Atypus and Sphodros - see http://www.americanarachnology.org/HiResGallery/myg_sphodros.html for an example.
