So, my kids left a small throw blanket on the floor last night, and just a little while ago, I picked it up and put it across my lap...then I looked over and saw this gargantuan spider on the area of the floor where I'd just taken the blanket from. Needless to say, I am freaking out a bit. Apparently it was dying...probably due to the barrier that I have sprayed around the outer perimeter of my home. We live out in the 'pseudo-boonies" in Georgia, so I've seen large spiders outside, but NEVER in the house! It looks to be about 3-3-1/2" long (including the legs) and it appears to be carrying an egg sac...>>cringe
CLOSED: Huge Spider in my House!
This is a female wolf spider with her egg sac. These are very beneficial volunteer pest controllers that pose no danger to humans...
Thank you Flapdoodle! :-)
