I have chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits, groundhogs and deer that enjoy my yard. I mostly leave them alone, but when they nibble at my garden vegetables I spray my plants with a hot pepper spray I make myself. This seems to protect my plants, but I recently heard this spray harms beneficial insects as well. I had never heard this before and can't find a lot of information on the internet. I am also curious to know how the pepper spray may affect toads. I'd like to attract them to my yard, but I don't want to inadvertently hurt them. Does anyone have information about pepper sprays? (Not the commercially purchased products that may have wax or other ingredients)
