A friend of mine found this gorgeous butterfly on a walk, and I wanted to know which specific species it is, so if you have any idea AT ALL, I would appreciate it!

This is a moth in the family Saturniidae; it looks like Saturnia pyri, known as the giant or great peacock moth - http://www.bvo.zadweb.biz.hr/pages/kukci/kukci%20-%20leptiri%20-%20nocna%20pauncad_eng.htm
