Hello,
I bought a used truck from Texas (I'm in Michigan area) and found a bunch of spider webs and some egg sacks during disassembly (anything I found, got torched). I also found one live spider, but at that point, it was torched prior to identification.
I saw this moving across the patio this weekend, and it caught my eye. I've never seen anything like this around here, but that doesn't mean it's not from around my area.
Anyhow, curious to see if it is dangerous (was) so I can look to see if there are more around. Summer is coming, and the last thing I want is a nest of spiders that aren't from around here, and are possibly dangerous.
Thanks in advance.
Jordan
Spider Identification
This is an orb weaving spider; looks like a Larinioides sp. - see http://tinyurl.com/krxoc3p for an example. These spiders occur throughout the USA, and like all other orb weavers are harmless to humans...
