What is the difference between dogwood Appalachian Spring and Cloud Nine? Is it the height and spread of the tree? The size of the flowers?
Dogwood variety difference
There seems to be some minor differences. I found an entry for each on the Missouri Botanical Garden.

What stood out for me was that Appalachian Spring, "exhibited strong resistance to anthracnose", which is certainly a good resistance to have for Cornus florida considering how anthracnose has affected the species. 'Cloud Nine' seems to have larger blooms than the species in abundance. I'd go for the anthracnose resistance of 'Appalachian Spring' over 'Cloud Nine'.
Thanks. Living as I do in Coastal Carolina, Anthracnose resistance is important
I have been wanting to plant a dogwood just for food for birds. Does it matter which kind?
