Hey, all. Was going to my backyard and nearly walked eye-first into this little fella as it dangled down from my porch light. Waited till it crawled back up to snap this pic. Anyone know what it is?

This appears to be Steatoda nobilis, a recent introduction from Europe known as the noble false widow spider - See http://cisr.ucr.edu/european_spider.html. It is reputed to have a very painful bite; I know from personal experience that the bite of some other Steatoda sp. can be a quite painful experience.
