found it in Western North America, in Calabasas, California. Any ideas? common black ground beetle? ...it was in the grassland between two oak woodlands
what is this beetle?
This is not a beetle, but a nymph of a plant bug in the family Miridae. There are species in several genera that can have this general appearance, and some of those can jump like flea beetles.
