I went wondering in the winter woods for hours today and almost walked right into these beauties which I think are Black Tupelos. Can I get a confirmation? I want to be right about a tree when it doesn't have leaves to depend on.
Black Tupelo?
You can get a confirmation that there is not enough information in these three images to disprove your assertion that these are Nyssa sylvatica.
Had you been able to provide some clear images of twigs/buds, I know that I could provide you confirmation (or not) that those ARE Nyssa sylvatica.
We all want you to be right as well, but complete and distinct information is the best starting point.
