Yesterday I noticed this mantis in my garden, the first time I was seeing this. A few years ago I had seen a Flower Mantis. This is not green, but looked like a 'dry leaf'. It was sitting at the tip of a hibiscus twig. I thought it was some dry leaf and wanted to 'remove' it. When I touched, it flew! Then I followed. It also climbed on the camera, on my finger and then gave its valuable time for many poses.
Which is this?
A mantis to be identified
It appears to be a unicorn boxer mantis, Hestiasula brunneriana - http://usamantis.com/Hbrunneriana_log.html
Thanks Flap... you appear to be correct! :-)
