Hello--
I have a relatively new Valencia Orange tree--@2ft tall--that I have planted in a large raised bed two months or so back here in zone 10a. As I used good soil and compound, the tree began to blossom almost instantly. Upon surveying the grounds today, however, I see that over half the leaves have been eaten off the tree, particularly at the ends of the branches. Inspecting the tree closely, I find no caterpillar on the leaves nor the branches. Can I assume it's a caterpillar, and is there anything I can do to stop the destruction? Will the presence of blossoms attract bees that can eat the caterpillar? I'm hoping that I won't lose the tree.
Any advice welcomed!

This appears to be the exactly the same pattern as I have seen on my tomato plants, where caterpillars have eaten the leaves from the outside tips of the branches and worked their way in.
