Help pls - Chinese tallow tree, propagation - leaf or root cuttings or layering (Sapium sebiferum)

Nelson, New Zealand

Hi I have a few young Chinese tallow trees about 10 inches tall (250 mm) and want to grow a lot of them, but can not source seed in New Zealand, so was wondering if leaf cuttings would work or root cuttings or layering?
This tree is also called, candleberry tree, chicken tree, popcorn tree and vegetable tallow.
Any suggestions or comments appreciated.

Scott County, KY(Zone 5b)

Check with your local government agency, and see if you will be breaking all kinds of laws.

This species is a known botanical invader, and New Zealand probably doesn't need any help gaining more problem plants.

It is a legal tree here and trees are sometimes sold as ornamentals, but seeds have to be imported.
Any helpful comments appreciated.

cuttings or layering are good in the absence of seeds, often top grafting is done if you have seedling stock. I have not heard of root division, but if you have a bunch of plants you may try stool mounding to see if that proves efficacious. It is a fairly common practice with other plant types, so you should be able to find the practice via google search

Thank you for the propagation suggestions.
